From 19 to 22 September 2025, the city of Pretoria, South Africa, will host the Anticipatory Leadership Week
(ALW) 2025. The event has been organised for the Science Diplomacy Capital for Africa (SDCfA)
in collaboration with the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance. It is a four-day event with a packed programme
that will focus on the themes of “anticipatory leadership, foresight practice and cross-sectoral
collaboration”. The programme includes interactive sessions, group work, site visits, and simulations.
Alessandro Lombardo, Senior Executive Officer of the Central European Initiative (CEI), informs us
that the organisers will cover all expenses except international flights and related costs (airfare,

visa, travel insurance, and personal/non-scheduled expenses). It is still possible to be nominated
to participate in ALW 2025. All EU Alliance members who are interested
