The Arctic Circle Rome Forum - Polar Dialogue will be held in Rome on March 3 and 4, 2026, in
collaboration with the National Research Council and the Ministry of University and Research.
The
Forum will bring together leaders and experts to discuss the Arctic through the lenses of research,
science, diplomacy, security, and education.
Proposals may be submitted by governments, institutions, organizations, universities, think tanks, businesses, and other recognized entities..
Each proposal must include a clear description of the session’s relevance to the Arctic,highlighting its contribution toincreasing knowledge and/or awareness of Arctic issues..
The Sessions should reflect the diversity of speakers,including people from including people from different backgrounds, institutional affiliations, and nationalities.The participation of Indigenous Peoples is strongly encouraged, recognizing their essential role in safeguarding traditional knowledge and sustainable management of Arctic resources.
Finally, each proposal must clearly explain how the session topic relates to the central theme of the Forum,which may be divided into one or more of the following key areas:
- Science, for the production and sharing of new knowledge about the Arctic;
- Diplomacy, for the strengthening of international dialogue and cooperation;
- Security,to address the region’s geopolitical and environmental challenges;
- Education, to raise awareness and train new generations of experts;
- Research,as a tool for innovation and sustainability;
- Polar Dialogue,an inclusive space for discussion between disciplines, cultures, and perspectives.
